  1. ONE AT A TIME: If replacing a pair, NEVER remove both struts simultaneously. Replace one at a time to prevent the hood from collapsing.
  2. Use a Support Stand: Always use a non-destructive temporary support stand to hold the hood in the open position before removing the old strut.
  3. Trim Tool Required: Use a plastic trim tool to safely loosen the bottom clip from the body mounting bracket. Do NOT use metal pry bars, which can damage the hood paint or the strut ball socket.
  4. Pinch Hazard: Keep fingers clear of the hinge area when the hood is unsupported. Professional installation is highly recommended.
